As a public health consulting firm, we are often asked similar questions by prospective clients about how we operate. It is important to us to provide as much clarity as possible so we built this FAQ section to answer some of the questions we hear most often.
Due to the nature of our work, we build our rates to match the value of services we provide to clients. Our rates are very competitive with any other consulting firm. We believe we are significantly less than most large for-profit consulting firms and our peers that work exclusively in nonprofit.
However, we have found that on some technology implementations that costs are usually around the same price. We have implemented Salesforce for small organizations that are not using any databases for as little as $2,000 and migrated organizations using software like Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge for as little as $5,000. However, these costs really do fluctuate based on if you are using MailChimp, QuickBooks, and other software that needs to be integrated into Salesforce.
On the strategy side, we have found that every project is very different and there are little similarities. We believe we bring value and our rates reflect our ability to improve your impact.
Once again this is based on the project. We have implemented new Salesforce instances in 3 weeks and created automated DocuSign employee onboarding processes in less than a week. It will really depend on your needs and how complicated the project is likely to be. We do our best to work on your deadlines since we know any investment in us is an investment in your future. We are committed to getting things done as quickly as we possibly can and will always work out these details before starting a project.
Call us and talk to us. Your satisfaction is a top priority and we want to make sure we meet your needs. We have successfully completed every project that we have started. However, there is a first for everything. We will work with you on a transition if we are not a match for your organization.
Hands down, we know more about nonprofits than anyone else. We are a small business and everyone that works on our team has multiple years of full-time experience in the business. Large consulting firms often bring on young employees that have little experience in the field which ultimately means you end up paying for them to be trained. We do not work this way and that is why we are able to charge a lot less than our peers.
No, we are an LLC that is a small business. We are completely funded by client fees and do not receive any philanthropy dollars. We have thought about whether it makes sense to be a nonprofit or for-profit and ultimately decided that to begin we do not believe we can bring value through fundraising to pay for our services.
We have done projects for small organizations with only a few full-time employees to county governments that oversee large sums of taxpayer dollars. For us, it is really fun working with organizations of different sizes because the impact can be so different. A new database that allows you to keep record of your donations as a small organization can be just as big of a win for the organization as a database that involves contact tracing for a county government.
We are happy to provide client references to prospects once we have had initial discussions and have tentatively worked through a scope of work.
Yes, we are happy to sign mutual non-disclosure agreements. This agreement protects both parties from disclosure of confidential information. Also, we know that our clients trust us to keep their best interests at the forefront of everything we do. We will never give you information to anyone else.
Yes, in fact about 50% of the work we do is for clients outside of Houston. Technology has allowed us to easily help organizations in many different states. We are happy to talk and see if we are a good fit for your needs
